Our Annual Glow Party is this Friday evening from 5:30pm – 8:00pm! Dress in white or neon and dance in the MPR under black lights. This is a family event, not a drop off event. all students must be supervised by an adult. We will need some help decorating the MPR beforehand and also volunteering to help sell pizza and drinks at the food stand. Decorating will begin at 3:45pm (after chess club). We also need someone who can run over to Costco to pick up the pizzas. please email Darlene at yearbook@santiagopta.com if you can help out with Decorating or food help. We could also use some responsible parents to occasionally walk around the back of campus and remind families that the play structures are off limits during evening events.
Also our Sixth Grade Parent Committee will be having a Bake Sale during Glow Party. The proceeds from this Bake Sale will be exclusively for Sixth Grade Field Day, Promotion, and other sixth grade activities only. However, anyone can donate store bought items to the Bake Sale if you are interested in helping out our sixth graders. sorry, they cannot accept homemade items. please email Debbie at historian@santiagopta.com if you plan to donate items.
Yearbooks are in but we will hold off on distributing them until the last week of school. We have only a limited number of extras that will be sold afterwards. Jogathon Prizes are also getting organized this week, thanks for your patience.
Huge Thank Yous to Debbie Cain, Heather Gardner, and Erika Zanki, our long-time PTA volunteers whose students are graduating this year! Debbie is our Historian and organized the Tile Wall project, which has been installed so be sure to check it out at Glow Party! Heather is our VP of Parent Services and organized Staff Appreciation Week and the Bagels with Loved Ones event! They have all held board positions and kept our PTA alive and operating over the years and we will greatly miss them!
We cannot pull off these types of projects and events without dedicated volunteers! We are in need of a Newsletter/Communications and Social media chair, as well as VP of Student Services (supporting staff and school activities) and VP of Parent Services (Family Events). We also need someone to chair the Ice Cream social event in August, and our Fall Festival and Red Ribbon week in October. for next Spring, we need Jogathon co-chairs, and chairs for Staff Appreciation Week and Bagels with a Loved One. we also need someone to track yearbook orders and distribution for next year. if any of these sound interesting to you please email me and I can send you more details.
Remaining Dates:
May 31st – Glow Party!
June 6th – Ignite Night
June 11th – Peppinos Night using the CFC “Communities for Cause” App

Come and learn more about our school and our PTA and the many programs we put on during the year. We are working on our budget and calendar for next year and want to make sure parent’s voices are heard. It takes a lot of hands working together to have a strong and active PTA. There are many small programs throughout the year that don’t take too much time.
If you are coming from another school where you have experience with PTA, we would love your input, and we have several positions open where we would love to have your help and enthusiasm. We are always looking for parents passionate about helping our school and PTA be the best we can be!
