Recycle your sneakers!
To celebrate our new “Every Journey Starts with a Single Step” garden art, the PTA has partnered with @gotsneakersusa to recycle or reuse sneakers that often end up in landfill contributing to toxic chemicals being released in our air and soil. All sneakers will be recirculated to people who want footwear at affordable prices or repurposed into new surfaces such as playgrounds and tracks.
We will be collecting used sneakers the first week back from winter break. If you or your kids get new sneakers over the break, don’t throw the old ones away! Simply put them in the bin at the Single Step display, on the Innovation Quad. If you see a pair you like in the bin, you’re welcome to take them home and give them another run. Everything in the bins will be sent to @gotsneakersusa at the end of Friday, January 7th.
